Different types of houses require different types of facades, which adapt to the general aesthetics of the building, but also to its specific construction characteristics, so that the construction has a uniform style. There are different styles of facade and it is necessary to know them in order to choose correctly.

Facades

LIGHT FACADES

Lightweight facades adhere to the building’s sturdy structure, but are not part of it. There are two types of light facades:

  • curtain walls: this is a facade that adheres directly to the metal that forms the structure of the building and constitutes a continuous facade, i.e. the metal does not protrude at any time.
  • panel facade: very similar to the previous one, but in this case the cladding material is placed by plates, from one iron to another.

HEAVY FACADES

Heavy facades are integrated into the sturdy structure:

  • Prefabricated: These are facades that in themselves constitute the enclosure of the building, and can be made of multiple materials, although the most common are those made of polyurethane and/or metal. They are usually used only in industrial and similar buildings.
  • Traditional: Facades that use traditional materials, such as wood, stone or brick. Many times these materials are structural, i.e. they form part of the wall itself, while other times they are necessary coatings, such as plastering. They allow great insulation and are used in all types of housing.
  • SATE System: This is an external thermal insulation system that consists of installing guides over the structure of the building, filling the gaps between them with insulation material and placing a finish on top.
  • Ventilated facade: Very similar to the previous one, but with an air chamber between the structure and the insulating material that allows a good thermal insulation and at the same time a good ventilation. Both the SATE system and the ventilated facade are perfect for small houses and are widely used in modular constructions.
